Four things I say most weeks

The fight is never about the dishes. It is about being the only one who notices.

Men and women rarely argue about different things. They argue in different languages.

The silence after a fight is not stubbornness. It is somebody protecting themselves.

Time does not repair a relationship. Repair does.

Why Kawal Arora

I don’t fix people. I make the pattern between them visible.

Most of my work sits between two people who love each other and cannot hear each other. Couples having the same argument in a different costume. Parents whose teenager answers in one word and closes the door. In-laws, separation, the family rules nobody agreed to. None of it is a failure of love. It is a failure of translation — and translation is teachable.

The other half of my week looks different and turns out to be the same work: leaders whose teams have quietly stopped telling them the truth. The habits that decide a marriage are the habits that decide a team, which is why I work on both.

Mars-Venus trained

Trained by John Gray, author of Men Are from Mars, Women Are from Venus, I help men and women understand differences in how they think, communicate and handle stress—turning misunderstandings into connection.

02

Both people get heard

Sessions are built so neither partner can dominate and neither can disappear.

03

Certified, not self-declared

ICF Certified and Mars-Venus trained. Confidentiality is absolute — and I will say honestly when you need a therapist rather than a coach.

Read first

Before you book, see how I think.

The fastest way to judge whether I am the right person for this is to read a few hundred words of how I think.

How the work runs

Structured enough to trust. Loose enough to be human.

Every engagement follows the same spine — a couple over ten sessions, or a leadership cohort over six.

Start with a discovery call

The discovery call

Thirty minutes, free. You describe what is going on. I tell you honestly whether coaching is the right tool — and if it is not, where else to look.

Mapping what is actually happening

We separate the presenting problem from the real one. Values, beliefs, the stories you were handed. This is the part most people have never done out loud.

Finding the root, not the symptom

Self-reflection with structure. I ask; you discover. I do not hand you my answer, because my answer does not survive your Tuesday.

Behavioural practice between sessions

Specific techniques and homework. Small, testable, uncomfortable. Change happens in the week, not in the session.

Consolidation and exit

The goal is not a client for life. It is that you can run the process on yourself, without me, when the next thing hits.

In their words

The real testimonial is the one that comes from the heart.

Unfiltered feedback from real clients. Names used with permission; some prefer to stay anonymous.

I came to Kawal in a very dark place — I had convinced myself that nothing would change. He never once told me what to do. He asked questions until I found the answer myself. Today I see challenges as opportunities to grow, and that is not a sentence I could have said out loud two years ago.
Shilpi VajpayeeAustralia · Individual coaching
We had tried other approaches and other people. Within ten sessions my wife and I finally understood what the other one had actually been asking for all along. That had not happened in years of trying.
AshokUnited States · Relationship coaching
You have been my anchor in the most difficult phase of my life. The fog lifted. I could think again, and I could be a mother again.
AnonymousMarriage & motherhood
I used to freeze in group settings and lose focus within twenty minutes of any task. Now I speak in rooms I would once have avoided and I can hold my attention through a full working day.
AkhilIndia · Individual coaching
Our son had stopped speaking to us. Kawal worked with all three of us, patiently. The anger has gone out of the house. That is the only way I know how to describe it.
AnonymousParents of a 19-year-old
As a leader I was competent and completely unheard. He showed me that the problem was not my content — it was that I had stopped being curious about anybody else in the room.

The Sunday Note

One idea a week on relationships, leadership and human behaviour.

No motivational filler. One observation from the coaching room, one question to sit with, and one thing to try before Friday. Unsubscribe whenever you like.

Weekly-ish. Your address is never shared or sold.

Before you get in touch

The questions people ask first.

The short answers. There are two dozen more on the FAQ page, including confidentiality, cancellations and corporate work.

Coaching is a collaborative, forward-focused process that helps you unlock your potential, develop new skills and reach outcomes you care about. We work from where you are now towards where you want to be, using structured questions, self-reflection and practised behaviour change.

Therapy and clinical counselling frequently work backwards into your history and can treat diagnosable mental health conditions. I am a coach, not a clinician. If what you are carrying needs a psychiatrist or a licensed clinical psychologist, I will say so early and help you find the right person — that referral is part of the service, not a failure of it.

Couples and individuals navigating marriage, separation, in-laws, parenting and family estrangement. Senior leaders, founders and newly-promoted executives. Teams and manager cohorts. And organisations with several generations under one roof who want them collaborating rather than misreading each other. Clients are based globally — India, South-East Asia (Singapore, Malaysia and Indonesia), Europe, the United States and Australia — and thousands of people have been coached across individual, couples, group and corporate work.

I am based in Hyderabad, India. Sessions run face to face here, or online over Google Meet, Zoom or WhatsApp. A significant share of my practice is international and entirely online.

Before that there is a free 30-minute discovery call. In the first paid session we go wide: what is actually going on, what you have already tried, what you want to be different, and what has been getting in the way. For couples I usually speak to each partner individually first.

Fees depend on the type of engagement, the format and its duration, and corporate work is scoped and quoted separately. I will give you a clear figure on the discovery call before you commit to anything. If cost is a genuine barrier, say so on the call — I would rather have that conversation than lose someone who needs the work.

Use the booking form on the contact page, email coachkawalarora@gmail.com, or send a WhatsApp message to +91 90019 91169. Every engagement begins with a free 30-minute discovery call, usually scheduled within a week.
