People often ask me what exactly I do in coaching? Am I an expert in all areas of life to provide solution to people’s problems?
I would like to answer it with this simple example. Suppose you have lost something, say a car key. And you tell to your friend that you lost your car key. Your friend may ask few questions like – When you used it last time? Where you usually keep it? Any other place you keep the key? Do you remember where you saw it last time?
So with these simple questions from your friend you start tracing back to events, memories and your past actions that help you to find the key. Two things to note here –
1. your friend doesn’t know anything about the key, your actions or events happened that led you to into this situation
2. It’s you who found the key. Your friend just asked the “right” questions.
Coaching is similar where coach asks the right questions, providing different perspectives, taking coachee through self discovery journey, exploring options and lead the coachee to find answers to their problems related to:
– Relationship
– Marital & family issues
– Mid-life crises
– Career
– Anxiety and stress issues
– Fear & Phobia
– Guilt and Pessimism
– Any other
