Everybody makes the best choice available to them at the time they make it. *

We all make choices every day, it could be regular ones like what to make for dinner to more impacting ones like where to invest, what career path to take, or what girl/boy to marry.

Have you ever sat some time thinking about the past and told yourself if I had made a different choice then, my life would have been better now? And then this thought keeps you so occupied that it paralyzes you to make better choices in your present too.

You accept everything happening in life as a result of the past choice and stop making any efforts to change and make new choices. E.g. your choice of a partner in the past that led to a painful breakup keeps you away from getting into new relationships. A loss in your previous investment/startup makes you so fearful that you don’t take the courage to invest in things you are sure of making a profit in.

*Doubting about your past choices makes you doubt your current choices as well. * But if you pay more attention you will realize you had made the best choice available then.

If I ask you to choose a car for Tata, Hyundai, and Mercedes, almost all of us will go for Mercedes. You take Mercedes and go home happily. The next day, Ferrari is also added to the options but you cannot change your decision. Will you beat yourself for making the wrong choice of Mercedes over Ferrari which was not even available then?

So next time, you doubt yourself over any past decisions, *be more empathetic to yourself and trust that you had made the best choice available at that time. This will help you to not blame yourself & releasing you from the burden, resulting in a good frame of mind of trusting yourself and making new choices that can change your life, maybe forever. *

Happy “New” Choices!! 😊
